Christmas Eve Dawns in Rome

Dana leads us toward the Colosseum.

The toothbrushes were nestled, all snug in their cup.

Here's why you don't try taking a dump in the dark in Europe.

My fourth trip to Europe, and
I still haven't tried a bidet.

Yes, Matt will take
photos of anything.

Hello, hair dryer.

This is actually the poshest-looking hotel bathroom
I've ever had overseas.

I'll use these photos in my hotel reviews on other websites.

Notice we always bring some
shower products of our own
from home.  It's a must.

I give generally high marks to
the Hotel Turner bathroom.

west of our hotel...

...and a bus passing in front of it

There on the left is the yellow box which punches your ticket every time you board a bus.

Dana wonders how long it will take these two bus drivers to switch shifts.

While we're sitting here in the parked bus, I start to wonder if we're on the right one.

We weren't.  Christmas Eve
had the bus schedules
and routes all skewed.

11:32 am: But here we are, approaching the Colosseum!

These buildings are a couple of blocks east of the Colosseum.

Is that Il Vittoriano
in the distance?

The pigeons stay plump here from all the al fresco lunch eaters who toss crumbs.

Dana has finished
her veggie sandwich.

Matt cops a squat on a bench
a block from the Colosseum.

The Colosseum: site of more gruesome scenes than your average 1:00 am hour at a Matt party on East Magnolia Street.
